In this tutorial I will show you how to extend a frame in your
video clip, in other words, I show you how to freeze a moment
in the video. You might need this for example when your narration
is longer than your video presentation.
The 1st step is to take a snap shot of the image on the screen.
I click on this little tool under the preview window and it looks
like a camera. I have to name this image and save it.I
t automatically appears in the media library. We will have to
insert the still image in the time line, at the very same moment
where we took this image. I am in “Clip” mode and
I am going to split the video clip. I move the second part out
of the way.
Now I go to the media library, and click on the snap shot, and
drag it down to the time line and place it between the split video
clips.
Let’s set the duration of this image. I right click on the
image in the time line, and I click “Set Duration”.
By default, images are set to display for 5 seconds, and it is
exactly what I need in this case, but you can change it to any
amount of time that you want. Just click on the Seconds or Minutes
and type in the duration that you want. Then click OK. Now click
on the second video clip that we put aside, and drag it back to
the end of the still image.
This all folks, we have extended a frame for 5 seconds, or we
can also say that we froze a moment for 5 seconds in the timeline.
